Gothic Quarter

An interesting guided tour primarily on foot through the oldest areas of the city. By visiting the small alleys and the beautiful Cathedral you will get a good impression of classic Barcelona. Barcelona was a walled city until the expansion of the mid 19th century. Many of the buildings date from the 13th and 14th centuries and an impression of stepping back in time is almost unavoidable. The interior of the Cathedral is particularly spectacular with its high vaulted ceiling and 29 ornately decorated chapels whilst outside the leafy cloisters have their tranquillity disturbed by the resident geese on the quest for bread from visitors.
In the gothic area we will guide you along the most significant historical palaces and museums.

Gaudí Tour

The style that represents Barcelona is the Modernist style. This style sprinkles the entire city with true works of art of international prestige. You cannot visit Barcelona without noticing the works of the famous Antoní Gaudí. No artist can be more connected to a city as Gaudí is to Barcelona.

This Gaudí tour starts at Passeig de Gràcia, one of the most sophisticated boulevards of Barcelona with luxurious shops. The fantastic Casa Batlló designed by Gaudí is located here. It stands as a homage to the legend of “St. George and the Dragon”. Its tiles remind of the shiny scales of the dragon’s back. You will recognize several bones and skulls from the killed knights who did not succeed in saving the princess as part of the balconies.
On the other side of the road, there’s another marvellous example of Gaudí’s unusual architecture: La Pedrera (or: Casa Milà), where straight lines do not exist. The group will be invited to come in and admire the interior of this fascinating building.
After this you will be heading for the most famous work of Gaudí (even though it has remained unfinished):the church La Sagrada Familia. The Sagrada Familia is a tall, nouveau-gothic church with lots of decoration on it.
The tour finishes at Parc Güell. Entering the park makes you feel as entering a fairytale. Of course some time at leisure will be left here, to enjoy and admire the endless imagination of this genius creativity

General City tour

This is a general tour of the city, which gives an orientation without specific visits. Starting at the hotel the pier drives up into the Olympic Ring Area of Montjuic from where participants can enjoy a good view over the city. After this the group will return to the central area and drive along the principal boulevards as Passeig de Gracia and its many impressive buildings. A short stop is made at Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece, the Temple of the Sagrada Familia, After this short stop, the group will go to Plaza Cataluña and the famous Ramblas. The Ramblas borders the Gothic Quarter, there will be a chance to see the Cathedral and some time at leisure to wander in the myriad narrow shopping streets of the old town.

Half a day the Picasso Museum and the Miró Foundation

Barcelona, rich with historic heritage, has recently undertaken a broad-based project of urban renewal. It has renovated its infrastructure and has started to outline the city of the future.
Alongside these new cultural manifestations, the city has over forty museums, covering the arts, sciences, and history or devoted to single themes. This tour will highlight the most famous ones of the 40 museums.

The tour begins at the Miró Foundation, located on the Montjuic where the International Exposition of 1929 took place. Your guided tour through the Foundation gives you the opportunity to view the best public collection of Joan Miró’s work. 300 Paintings, 150 sculptures, 9 tapestries and the complete collection of graphics and over 7000 drawings, show Miró’s artistic development and the different techniques he used throughout his career.

Visiting Barcelona won’t be complete without visiting the Museum of Picasso, that houses the most complete collection of his youth and formative years. The first stage in his personal development, the Blue Period (1901 – 1904 ), is well represented. The museum has an outstanding collection of prints by Picasso spanning the period 1904 to 1972.

Santa Maria del Mar, Palau de la Música and
the Picasso Museum

The tour begins with one of the most extravagant testimonies to Modernist art and architecture: Domenèch's Palau de la Música is a densely ornate celebration of music and one of the worlds most fanciful and diverting concert halls. Visitors find it completely "over the top" or breathtakingly beautiful. It is certainly impressive and memorable and since its completion in 1908 it has hosted the world's leading orchestras, choirs and soloists.

On then to the older part of town (Born) where many of the medieval palaces have been converted to museums including the Textile Museum, one is dedicated to the works of Maeght and the best known features Picasso. The museum spans two adjacent palaces and has work spanning Picasso's more traditional period through to his most bizarre abstracts. It is one of the most visited sights of the city and time is spent here admiring the works of this famous artist.

Nearby is the 14th century Gothic Church of Santa Maria del Mar. This is an impressive testimony of medieval Barcelona's wealth and power, particularly noted for its stained glass windows.

Barceloneta

This bustling modern restaurant is in a privileged location with panoramic glass windows and a terrace overlooking the harbour of Port Vell where many of the most luxurious vessels are moored. The maritime decor features bleached wood, creating a casual but stylish ambience and reception area is reminiscent of the interior of an old wooden schooner. There are also dining rooms for private groups.

The cuisine offers typical Mediterranean fare with ample choice between fresh fish and meat specialities. Excellent value for money and good food and service.

El Gran Café

This restaurant is located in a narrow street of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. The style of the atmospheric main restaurant is reminiscent of a Parisian café/bistro with a downstairs area overlooked by an upstairs balcony. There is an elegant private dining room with a separate entrance for a maximum of 70 people. The restaurant’s authentic wine cellar with its exposed brick walls and arched ceiling is an ideal location for smaller groups (maximum 30/35 persons).

Can Travi Nou

This restaurant is located in the suburb of Horta. The restaurant is a large, rambling and charmingly restored farmhouse dating back to the 17th century. There are several dining rooms to cater for varying sizes of groups from the smallest room for 10 people up to the largest with a capacity for more than 150 diners. The total capacity of the house itself is over 300 people, this is without the beautiful covered terrace outside that at least covers 200 seats during the warmer months and offers a great place for pre-dinner cocktails.
The walls of the "masia" are clad in purple ivy whilst inside whitewashed walls, beamed ceilings and wooden shutters are authentically rustic. The homely decoration includes large ancient cabinets and cupboards, shelves with plants, plates and ornaments, ancient traditional farm implements and baskets filled with bottles of local wine.

The cuisine is focussed on tasty Catalan specialities. The standard of both food and service is excellent. An ideal location that makes you feel being in the country within the boundaries of the city.

La Bona Cuina

The Bona Cuina is situated in one of the tiny narrow streets just behind the Gothic Cathedral. The ancient building has the feel of a late 19th century home with decor featuring antique furniture, paintings and mirrors with adorned frames. The three levels of the restaurant are connected by the original narrow staircase. Specialising in typical Catalan cuisine the restaurant offers a good range of meat and fish dishes.

Club 13

Elegance, exclusivity and style are words that could be applied to Club 13. Club 13 is set on Plaza Reial, a beautiful plaza in the ancient centre. It is one of Barcelona’s most exquisite venues. The open-air terrace overlooking the entire plaza and coctailbar are a great place to start off the night. An international meal can be enjoyed in the elegant restaurant and lounge, reclining on the soft comfortable sofas. The menu includes dishes from all over the world, varying according to the season. Downstairs is a seriously trendy nightspot in luxurious surroundings. It is a perfect spot for all kinds of groups and we will guarantee you a splendid night in here.

The menu combines the most attractive dishes from diverse gastronomic backgrounds: Mediterranean, French, Italian, Japanese and Asian. The dishes are always built upon the freshest of top quality season products. The bar that is connected to the charming restaurant is an ideal place to have a drink before or after diner.
